If you've reached the point where you're totally fed up with smoking and you've finally had enough, you can get great results with our program. But you'll have to convince me that you're ready. If you think you can taper off, or have one once in a while, I'll ask you to call back when you're really and truly fed up. I need you to value your life and health even more than I do. If it's the other way around, maybe we need to work on that first before the smoking.
You see, in order to quit, YOU have to STOP SMOKING. That's your part in this. I'm not going to babysit you, follow you around and police this. You will always have free will. Which is great. Because you can make the conscious decision to quit. To take charge, to be a leader. And this time you have a secret weapon. Our techniques can make the process much easier, much more comfortable. When you deal with the underlying causes, beliefs and impulses you can break those old habits and establish new habits that work so much better. When you think about it, in order to quit smoking you don't really have to DO anything. You may think it's got be complicated and difficult. You've been told that cigarettes are more addictive than heroin, that you'll gain so-o-o much weight, etc. Guess what? In my experience, the withdrawal symptoms are pretty much whatever you expect them to be. The physical aspect of this habit is small and can dissipate very quickly. It's the psychological aspect, the rituals and routines surrounding it that need to be interrupted to truly break the habit. All those little things you DO to keep it in place. Stop doing those, and you stop smoking. Immediately you find you are a non-smoker.
The mental component that people struggle with is mainly fear. Fear that you won't be able to cope. Fear that you won't be able to relax. Fear that you won't have anything to do with your hands. and so on. These are all rationalizations that the "smoking part" of your mind comes up with. They are excuses, illusions, propagated and reinforced by hearsay, "media chic," and tobacco industry propaganda and disinformation. These outdated impressions are often formed in the early teens, a time when many start the habit. Once you recognize these childish illusions for what they are, you can walk away too.
I've seen plenty of people, pack a day smokers, walk away from it easily after our work. These people come in fed up and ready to change. They are ready and open for Hypnotherapy and Cognitive Skill building work. They follow the instructions, take responsibility for their actions and they are successful. Through our work together, they suddenly see through the illusion and walk away easily.
But please, cut the excuses. I know there's things you enjoy about it. I also know there's a million other more positive ways to get the same things. If you want to go on smoking, that's your choice.
